A career in IT contract and permanent recruitment

Recruitment is a service-centric industry that revolves around people, which is why we are constantly on the look out for people who can contribute something from their own unique experiences and backgrounds. We welcome to our team talented professionals who thrive in a challenging and dynamic environment and are able to uphold our reputation for excellence in service delivery.

Our people are engaged in high-value, sustainable, transformational relationships with our clients. They work to gain a thorough understanding of how our clients’ businesses work and deliver people solutions to meet their needs. They are highly professional and dedicated to client satisfaction. We expect the most of our people and, in return, ensure they enjoy rewarding and stimulating careers.

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role which combines sales, people skills and problem solving — you may have what it takes to be a successful Infopeople recruitment consultant.

What is the Role of an Infopeople Recruitment Consultant?

The role of an Infopeople recruitment consultant is fast paced, demanding and diverse. It is also very challenging and exciting and no two days are ever the same.

The role involves attracting business from client companies by using sales, business development and marketing techniques. This includes building relationships with clients by going out and meeting them, keeping in touch over the telephone and also in writing. It involves getting to know the client companies, what they do, how they operate and the general culture or atmosphere of the workplace. An important attribute for an Infopeople recruitment consultant is the confidence to contact prospective clients and win their business.

You'll talk to and meet job seekers (we call them 'candidates') to assess their competencies and experiences, their career aspirations as well as their 'fit' for different positions. You will screen candidates, interview them and select suitable candidates to put forward to client companies. Our recruitment consultants are also involved in negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidate. The sense of satisfaction you receive from placing the right candidate in the right job can be overwhelming.

What rewards could an Infopeople recruitment consultant expect?

Salaries will vary based on your experience, but Infopeople usually pays consultants a basic salary plus a performance-related bonus or commission. For those who work hard and are good at their job the rewards will be substantial.

What level of education does a recruitment consultant need?

Infopeople generally welcomes candidates from a range of educational backgrounds and there is a great future for those with the drive and determination to succeed. We also have a comprehensive career development programme for those wishing to progress quickly.

To build on your academic achievements there are industry specific qualifications, from ITCRA which can be studied for.

What sort of work experience does an Infopeople recruitment consultant need?

People who are keen to learn and have the right personal attributes will also be welcomed by Infopeople. Mature candidates who are seeking a second career will find Infopeople offers a stimulating and dynamic role where experience will be welcomed. A background of work in any of the following disciplines would be useful, although not essential, for starting a career with Infopeople:

  • Information Technology

  • Sales

Also, if you have background knowledge or professional qualifications in a specific IT market sector this can be very helpful. The more market knowledge you have, the more often you'll bring your clients and candidates together in a successful match.
