As mentioned at the start of this section, stringent income tax
rules make it very difficult for contractors to run businesses on a
self-employed basis, resulting in very few contractors working this
way.

viable for IT contractors.
If you are reluctant to set up your own limited
company, then you should consider using an umbrella
company.
